Early U.S. Coinage

From 1672 to 1795, numerous coins have been circulated in the United States. Early colonies used coins struck in England before having their own coins struck by private mints. As such, there is a vast variety of early U.S. coins, the majority of which are rarely seen today. Post-colonial coins featuring George Washington were seen as patriotic by American citizens. Many early coins were made of copper. The rarity of early U.S. coins make them an excellent item for any collector!
