Introducing NGC MintFresh Tubes: Enhanced Security and Trust for Precious Metals Storage
Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC) is pleased to introduce MintFresh Tubes, a new standard for securing and authenticating silver and gold bullion. The MintFresh process preserves the pristine condition of coins by sealing them within tubes sourced directly from mint-issued Monster Boxes. These tubes are meticulously handled and sealed with a tamper-evident MintFresh sticker and protective shrink-wrap, ensuring they remain untouched and securely stored in NGC’s vaults or an NGC-approved depository.
The MintFresh Process: Preserving Mint State Quality
Upon arrival at NGC or an NGC-approved depository, each sealed Monster Box undergoes careful inspection before the tubes are extracted. Following a thorough review, each tube is sealed with a unique, tamper-evident NGC MintFresh sticker and protective shrink-wrap, guaranteeing the coins within remain in their original mint condition.

The tamper-evident MintFresh sticker provides essential information about the product, including the coin’s name, date, and weight. A convenient QR code is also included, providing instant access to detailed information about the MintFresh process. All MintFresh tubes retain their original mint seal, further enhanced by the NGC tamper-evident MintFresh sticker and protective shrink-wrap.
Submitting MintFresh Tubes for Grading:
MintFresh sealed tubes can be submitted to NGC for grading and maintain their label designation, provided both the tamper-evident MintFresh sticker and the original roll seal remain intact.

The American Silver Eagle is considered one of the most popular coins worldwide. The creation of these iconic 1 Troy oz of .999 fine silver coins was authorized through the Liberty Coin Act of 1985, and production began in 1986. Known to many as the official bullion coin of the United States, a redesign was introduced by the U.S. Mint in 2021. The original obverse design, based on Adolph A. Weinman’s 1916 “Walking Liberty” half dollar, has been updated with the help of modern technology. Now a closer reflection of Weinman’s original design, the obverse includes the addition of the traditional artist’s mark on the coin itself. As with the obverse, the reverse of the Silver Eagle also received an update in design. Before the summer of 2021, the design was that of the heraldic eagle of the United States, which was created by the former Chief Engraver of the United States Mint, John Mercanti. This design features an American bald eagle behind a heraldic shield with arrows and an olive branch in its talons. The new reverse design, also known as “Eagle Landing,” shows an eagle approaching a landing, carrying an oak branch to add to a nest. One of the U.S. Mint’s Artistic Infusion Program designers, Emily Damstra, created this new reverse design.
